Knights Landing Community Park

9600 Mill Street, Knights Landing, CA 95645

Due to high water levels the Knights Landing and Elkhorn boat ramps are closed.
They will re-open once the water levels recede.

Knights Landing Community Park is a 7.26 acre park with two play structures, a regulation soccer field, softball field, public restrooms, shaded gathering area, stage with power plug in, basketball court, ball wall, and picnic areas with BBQs. This park is located in the heart of Knights Landing and is adjacent to Woodland Joint Unified School District's Science and Technology Academy. Because WJUSD owns the land underneath the park, the County and WJUSD entered into a Memorandum of Understanding and Joint Use Agreement to allow the County to develop and operate the park. This park is a shining example of community based planning and multi-agency collaboration to bring top of the line recreation and public spaces to the community of Knights Landing and to all of its users.

If you would like to reserve the Picnic Tables, Stage Area, or register a team and reserve the softball or soccer fields, please contact Yolo County Parks at (530) 666-8888.

The idea of this park was born decades ago within the community of Knights Landing, which historically lacked public park areas for families. In 2018, County staff worked collaboratively with WJUSD and a 10 member Community Project Development Team to conduct robust public outreach and define desired assets of a new park. Through this approach, the current location was identified and the Board of Supervisors approved the MOU between the County and WJUSD for the County to undertake the development project. The County then was successful in securing funding from Prop 68 , the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization program, American Rescue Plan , Fiscal Year 2022-2023 State Budget Appropriations, and various internal funding sources to make this dream a reality. The Ground Breaking Ceremony was held April 9th, 2024 and a Soft Opening was held November 13th, 2024 which was well attended by stakeholders and community members.
