What is PEP?
PEP, or post-exposure prophylaxis, is medicine that can help prevent HIV if you have been exposed to it. You must start PEP within 72 hours (3 days) after a recent possible exposure to HIV. If you think you have been exposed to HIV in the last 72 hours, go to the nearest Urgent Care facility or Emergency Room for assistance.
