Central Yolo County Flood Mitigation Study

 

Project Overview

Over the past several years, Yolo County and the Yolo County Flood Control & Water Conservation District have been seeking funding opportunities to perform a current and reliable hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) evaluation for the Central Yolo County area, as well as investigate a variety of flood risk reduction alternatives to measure their effectiveness and feasibility.

In 2024, the County received a grant from FEMA under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) for the “Central Yolo County Flood Mitigation Study (Project)”. MBK Engineers was selected as the consultant for the Project and started work on the effort in early 2025.

 

Public Meetings and Information

  • Central Yolo County Flood Mitigation Study: The Draft Feasibility Study Report (FSR) is comprised of the following:
    • Draft Central Yolo County Flood Mitigation Study
    • Appendix A – Hydrologic and Hydraulic Study
    • Appendix B – Benefit-Cost Analysis
    • Appendix C – FEMA Homeowner’s Guide

    • All four files are combined into a single file: HERE. (Please note the file size is about 74 MB.)
