Meetings of the Waste Advisory Committee (WAC) are generally held on the 4th Thursday of each month, provided there are notable items for discussion, with a summer recess in July and a combined November/December meeting.

Appointed members include representatives from each city, as well as representatives from each of the following: the University of California-Davis, local industry, an environmental organization, special districts, and the public.

The Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors on issues relating to solid waste management, recycling and source reduction in Yolo County.

The WAC reviews and provides recommendations for development of goals, policies, and procedures within Yolo County and the incorporated Cities, on matters dealing with waste and recycling. Members of the WAC are poised to identify issues of countywide or regional concern and facilitate conflict resolution on waste issues between local jurisdictions.
