What is YEP?

The Yolo Energy Partnership (YEP) is a county-led program designed to help residents in unincorporated Yolo County reduce energy costs, improve home comfort, and access free energy efficiency resources. Through YEP, eligible residents can receive a free Home Energy Score assessment, weatherization kits, and guidance on electrification rebates and home repair assistance (while supplies last).

Who Can Apply?

  • Residents of unincorporated Yolo County (with the exception of the Electric Advisors Program, which is open to all Valley Clean Energy (VCE) customers).
  • Homeowners & renters.
  • Residents interested in home energy efficiency and electrification.

For the Home Energy Score Pilot Program and Weatherization Program, priority will be given to low-income households, farmworkers, seniors (65+), households with children, and individuals with disabilities. Additional eligibility criteria is below.

Step-by-Step Guide for Residents

  1. Check Eligibility – For HES, Weatherization, and OOHR programs, must live in unincorporated Yolo County. For Electric Advisors, must be a VCE customer. 
  2. Choose a Program – We recommend starting with a Home Energy Score or Weatherization Kit first!
  3. Apply Online or Get Help – Select English or Spanish applications.
  4. Receive Your Service – Schedule HES assessment or receive Weatherization kit.
  5. Explore Additional Help – If interested in making additional energy efficiency upgrades to your home, explore the Electric Advisors Hotline or the OOHR low-interest loan program.
