Yolo County Ballot Drop Box and Vote Center Locations and Hours for the June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election

Post Date:05/01/2026 9:00 PM

For the June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election, Yolo County will offer 16 Ballot Drop Boxes and 14 Vote Centers and a Mobile Vote Center that will travel throughout the rural areas. The combination of Ballot Drop Boxes, Vote Centers and the Mobile Vote Center allows voters a variety of locations and times to cast their ballots.

Ballot Drop Boxes

Ballots collected in the Ballot Drop Boxes are picked up by Yolo County Ballot Box Retrieval Teams. Some Ballot Drop Boxes are secured outdoors and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Ballot Drop Boxes are constructed of heavy-duty steel and built to withstand vandalism, illegal removal and inclement weather. The ballot deposit slot is also designed to prevent tampering and unauthorized removal of ballots. For more information about Ballot Drop Boxes visit: https://elections.yolocounty.gov/BDBs.

Countywide, there will be 16 Ballot Drop Boxes available beginning Tuesday, May 5, 2026, through 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, when they are closed and sealed.

Vote Centers

“Vote Centers offer more ways and more days to vote, so voters don’t have to wait until Election Day to cast their ballots,” said Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters.

At Vote Centers, voters can cast a ballot in person before or on Election Day, drop off their own completed vote-by-mail ballot, or return someone else’s vote-by-mail ballot as an authorized agent. An authorized agent is a person designated by a voter to return their completed vote-by-mail ballot on their behalf; the voter must complete the authorization section on the ballot envelope naming the individual returning it. Voters can also receive bilingual assistance, mark a ballot privately and independently using an ADA-accessible ballot-marking device, pick up their own replacement vote-by-mail ballot or replacement vote-by-mail envelope, register to vote or update their voter registration, and cast a Conditional Voter Registration ballot if they missed the voter registration deadline.

The voter registration deadline is Monday, May 18, 2026. Conditional Voter Registration (“same-day registration”) will be available after that date through Election Day.
