For the June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election, all write-in candidates for county, state, and federal offices must submit a statement of write-in candidacy and nomination papers (if applicable). Prospective write-in candidates should note that write-in candidacy is possible only if the office appears on the ballot.

The write-in candidacy nomination period begins Monday, April 6, 2026, and ends Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Yolo County candidates that wish to run for office can schedule an appointment online using our scheduling system: https://yolocountyace.as.me/schedule.php or by calling the Yolo County Elections Office at (530) 666‑8133. State and Federal candidates may file at the Secretary of State’s office or the county elections office where they live.
