PRESS RELEASE
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has started construction of a new left-turn pocket project on State Route 16 (Hwy 16) at the County Road 95 intersection, approximately three miles west of the City of Woodland. Construction activities began on Monday, March 9 and are expected to continue into the early summer months.
The project includes installation of new left-turn lanes at the intersection on Hwy 16 at County Road 95, as well as warning signs and beacons to improve visibility and highlight the County Road 95 intersection.
To ensure a safe construction zone, sections of Hwy 16 and the intersection with County Road 95 will have intermittent lane closures. Work will be performed Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with the roadway fully reopened to traffic each evening. Motorists should expect delays due to the lane closures and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. Flaggers and signage will be in place to guide motorists around the work area with local access to properties and businesses within the construction area will be maintained during the project.

The public is reminded to slow down and obey all posted construction signs and directions from flaggers when traveling through work zones.
