PRESS RELEASE
Yolo County Library has a New Year’s resolution for the community: read more in 2026. Beginning January 1, the Library will once again offer its popular reading program, 52: A Yearlong Reading Journey, with a new theme Around the World in 52 Books.
The program challenges readers to explore as many books as they can throughout the year using weekly reading prompts. In 2026, those prompts will take participants on a literary journey across the globe, encouraging them to discover stories connected to diverse cultures, places, and perspectives.
“The 52 Reading program is designed to transport you across the globe through the power of literature,” said Diana Lopez, Yolo County Librarian. “By participating in this marvelous reading adventure, you will explore the rich tapestry of voices, narratives, and traditions from diverse world cultures. This program fosters empathy, broadens historical knowledge, and encourages a deeper appreciation for the magnificent diversity of world cultures.”
Participants can join the journey by picking up a printed 52 reading checklist at any Yolo County Library branch or by signing up digitally through Beanstack. Beanstack is available via web browser at YoloCountyLibrary.Beanstack.org/reader365 or through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
52: A Yearlong Reading Journey is free and generously sponsored by the Yolo County Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library groups.
