Yolo County’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) proudly announces the 14th Annual Human Milk Drive to be held on Wednesday, November 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 600 A Street in Davis. This year's event celebrates November as National Prematurity Awareness Month and represents a collaborative effort between HHSA, the Yolo County Breastfeeding Coalition, local health organizations, hospitals and community partners. The drive’s mission is to ensure that every infant has access to the optimal nutrition that breast milk provides.

Donated milk plays a vital role in saving and improving the lives of medically fragile infants. Donors are carefully screened before contributing surplus breast milk. Each donation undergoes a rigorous pasteurization process, testing, and quality assurance to ensure safety and effectiveness. The milk is then distributed to NICUs, hospitals, and families nationwide, supporting infants who need it most. The milk drive benefits Mothers’ Milk Bank California (MMBCA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America.

How You Can Help

  • Donate Milk: If you are a lactating mother, consider donating your milk to help infants in need. Get pre-screened online at www.MothersMilk.org/donate-milk/get-started
  • Spread the Word: Share event details with family, friends, and your community to help raise awareness.
  • Volunteer: Assist with collection efforts or outreach to promote the importance of human milk donation.
  • To Request Milk: Parents or health care providers in need of milk can visit www.MothersMilk.org/request-milk.

Community involvement is key to the success of this life-saving initiative. Whether by donating, volunteering, or spreading the word, everyone can play a part in ensuring infants receive the nourishment they deserve.
