PRESS RELEASE
The Yolo County Elections Office will select the voting precincts to be included in the one percent manual tally for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election in accordance with California Elections Code.
The manual tally process validates the totaling of ballots generated by the electronic voting equipment before certifying election results. For each race not included in the one percent manual tally, an additional voting precinct with that contest will be tallied.
The public and media are invited to observe the voting precinct selection and the manual tally. Please note, due to the spacing in our office we must limit the number of members of the public that would like to observe. We recommend that any interested parties RSVP to elections@yolocounty.gov by Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
The selection of the precincts will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Yolo County Elections Office (625 Court Street, Room B05, Woodland, CA). The manual tally will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025.

Due to the requirements outlined in Assembly Bill 3184 (signed into law on 9/22/2024) and Senate Bill 280 (signed into law 8/21/2025), counties cannot certify election results for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special election before Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Voters who need to remedy a missing or mismatched signature on their vote-by-mail ballot have until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, to return their signature cure statement. If all signature issues are resolved before that deadline, the Yolo County Elections Office may certify the results earlier. Otherwise, certification will occur on or before December 2, 2025, as required by state law.
