Post Date:10/01/2025 9:00 AM

PRESS RELEASE

Domestic Violence Awareness Forum 2025

Yolo County Supervisor Vice Chair Sheila Allen, Supervisor Lucas Frerichs, the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office, and the City of Davis Police Department invite the community to attend a Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Forum on Monday, October 27, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Davis Senior Center located at 646 A Street, in Davis.

This supportive community gathering will bring together local organizations, service providers, and advocacy groups to share resources for survivors of domestic violence and raise awareness about prevention efforts. The 2025 theme is “With Survivors, Always.”

Attendees will hear from a panel of experts, have the opportunity to ask questions, and connect directly with services. To foster a safe space and inclusive environment, participants will also be able to submit anonymous questions during the forum.

“We must continue to build spaces where survivors feel safe and empowered, resources are known, and the public knows signs of abuse,” said Yolo County Board of Supervisors, Vice Chair Sheila Allen. “I’m proud to support this event and the organizations working tirelessly to break the cycle of violence in Yolo County.”

“By bringing together partners across law enforcement, service providers, and advocacy groups, we are creating a stronger safety net for survivors and their families,” said Lucas Frerichs, Yolo County Board of Supervisors.

“Survivors deserve to be heard, believed, and supported. Our office is committed to seeking justice and ensuring that resources are accessible to those who need them most,” said Jeff Reisig, Yolo County District Attorney.

“Law enforcement plays a critical role in both prevention and response. We’re committed to working alongside community partners to ensure survivors receive the justice and care they deserve,” said Todd Henry, Davis Police Chief.

Community members are encouraged to attend and RSVP in advance at Domestic Violence Awareness Month Forum RSVP or email District4@YoloCounty.gov.
