Yolo County officials are continuing to work closely with the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, and regional response partners in addressing the ongoing Oakdale Fire incident near Esparto. As of this afternoon, positive progress has been made toward stabilization of the site.

Evacuation orders have been reduced in select areas following improved on-the-ground conditions and real-time risk assessments. Field crews remain in the area to monitor evolving hazards and ensure public safety. Ongoing scene documentation is being supported by drone technology (unmanned aerial systems) to enhance situational awareness and improve coordination across response teams. Targeted fire suppression efforts are continuing with crews focused on cooling the remaining hotspots. Due to the presence of known explosive materials on site, explosive ordinance disposal experts are working alongside fire personnel to ensure safety during suppression activities. In addition, PG&E crews are actively assessing and mitigating utility hazards and are working to restore power to affected areas in coordination with emergency personnel.

Support Services for Affected Community Members
Yolo County is actively providing resources for those affected by the Oakdale Fire. Behavioral health professionals are available to support those impacted by the traumatic nature of the incident. Arson and bomb investigators from CAL FIRE - Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) were requested to take lead in the origin and cause investigation as the investigation remains ongoing.
